Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment

Inspect the gap to the quarter panels for the proper alignment with the rear compartment lid closed and with the latch engaged.

The lid is adjustable from its originally installed position. The vertical adjustments are provided by means of elongated holes in the rear compartment lid hinge. The horizontal adjustments are provided by means of elongated holes in the rear compartment lid hinge The rear compartment lid is equipped with two height adjustment bolts on the bottom of the lid. The two height adjustment bolts pivot in and out for alignment.

Prior to performing the latch adjustments properly align the rear compartment lid to the rear compartment opening through the hinge adjustment.

Perform the following steps to adjust the rear compartment lid:





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Loosen the upper hinge nuts (1) and adjust the hinge to the upper lid.

Tighten the upper hinge nuts to 29 Nm (21 lb ft).

2. Loosen the lower hinge bolts (2) on the inside of the hinge and adjust the hinge to quarter panel.

Tighten the lower hinge bolts to 29 Nm (21 lb ft).

3. Adjust the rear compartment lid height adjustment bolt (3).
