Luggage Compartment Description and Operation

The rear compartment contains the following components:

* Trunk lid release relay
* Rear compartment lid lock release actuator
* Body control module (BCM)
* Rear compartment lid release switch

The rear compartment can be operated by the keyless entry transmitter or the rear compartment lid release switch. The vehicle must be in the PARK position for the rear compartment to open. When the rear compartment lid release switch or the keyless entry transmitter is operated the coil side of the trunk release relay is energized, which closes the relay contacts and provides voltage to the rear compartment lid lock release actuator. The rear compartment will then release.
