Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: When a rear compartment lid hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.




1. Open the rear compartment.
2. Remove the wiring and the shield (1) on the left side of the compartment lid hinge.
3. Remove the rear compartment lid strut. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Strut Replacement (Service and Repair).




4. Remove the nuts (2) from the compartment lid upper hinge.
5. Remove the hinge bolts (3) from the quarter panel.
6. Remove the rear compartment lid hinge (4).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the rear compartment lid hinge (4).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the hinge bolts (3) to the quarter panel.

Tighten the rear compartment lid hinge bolts to 29 Nm (21 lb ft).

3. Install the nuts (2) to the rear compartment lid hinge (4).

Tighten the rear compartment lid hinge nuts to 29 Nm (21 lb ft).

4. Install the rear compartment lid strut. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Strut Replacement (Service and Repair).




5. Install the wiring and shield (1) to the left side compartment lid hinge.
6. Close the rear compartment.
7. Adjust rear compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment (Adjustments).
