Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Open the instrument panel (IP) compartment box.




3. Remove the right access panel.




4. Remove the outer air deflector screw.




5. Remove the outer air deflector.




6. Remove the lower module cover screws.




7. Remove the four screws from the front IP compartment.




8. Remove the two screws from the side of IP compartment.
9. Disconnect the IP compartment lamp switch and lamp wiring connections.
10. Remove the cool air hose from rear of IP compartment.
11. Remove the IP compartment from vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the IP compartment to vehicle.
2. Install the cool air hose to rear of IP compartment.
3. Connect the IP compartment lamp switch and the lamp wire connectors.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the screws to the front of IP compartment.

Tighten the screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).




5. Install the two screws to the side of IP compartment.

Tighten the screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).




6. Install the screws to the lower module cover.

Tighten the screws to 8 Nm (71 lb in).




7. Install the outer air deflector.




8. Install the outer air deflector screw.

Tighten the screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).




9. Install the right access panel.
10. Close the IP compartment door.
11. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
