Door Lock Cylinder Replacement
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.
1. Disable the SIR system, if equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement. Service and Repair
3. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement. Service and Repair
4. Remove the front door outside handle. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement (Door Handle Replacement).
5. Remove the front door outside handle lock rod.
6. Remove the C-Clip.
7. Remove the cam lever.
8. Remove the spring from the lock barrel.
9. Remove the thrust spring.
10. Remove the clear plastic cap.
11. Remove the door lock cylinder roll pin.
12. Insert the key into the lock cylinder.
13. Turn the lock cylinder to the right to release the cylinder from the lock plate.
14. Remove two ball bearings, two roller cylinder thrust caps.
15. Remove the lock cylinder from the cylinder housing.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the lock cylinder to the cylinder housing.
2. Install two ball bearings, two roller cylinder thrust caps.
3. Turn the lock cylinder to the left to lock the cylinder to the lock plate.
4. Remove the key from the lock cylinder.
5. Install the door lock cylinder roll pin.
6. Install the clear plastic cap.
7. Install the thrust spring.
8. Install the cam lever.
9. Install the C-Clip.
10. Install the front door outside handle. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement (Door Handle Replacement).
11. Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement. Service and Repair
12. Install front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement. Service and Repair
13. Enable the SIR system, if equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
