Lock Replacement - Front Door

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.




1. Disable the SIR system, if equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the front door trim panel.
3. Remove the front door water deflector.
4. Remove the Inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate if equipped.
5. Remove the front door inside handle rod.
6. Remove all rods that attach to the lock.
7. Remove the front door actuator electrical connectors.
8. Remove the front door lock screws.
9. Remove the front door lock from the door.




10. Remove the front door lock actuator screws.
11. Remove the front door lock actuator from the door lock.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the front door lock actuator to the door lock.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the front door lock actuator screws.

Tighten
Tighten the front door lock actuator screws to 3 N.m (27 lb in).




3. Install the front door lock to the door.
4. Install the front door lock screws.

Tighten
Tighten the front door lock screws to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

5. Install the front door actuator electrical connectors.
6. Install all rods that attach to the lock.
7. Install the front door inside handle rod.
8. Install the Inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate it equipped.
9. Install the front door water deflector.
10. Install front door trim panel.
11. Enable the SIR system, if equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming in Restraint Systems.
