Sunroof Actuator Cable Replacement

Removal Procedure

Important: Always replace the cables and the rear guide in pairs.





1. Remove the sunroof actuator.
2. Remove the water gutter. Refer to Water Gutter Replacement (Water Gutter Replacement).
3. Remove the screw from the sunroof actuator cable stop.
4. Remove the sunroof actuator cable stop from the sunroof actuator.




5. Remove the slide and/or guide from the sunroof actuator.




6. Remove the C-clip and pin from the guide.
7. Disconnect the cable and the rear guide from the slide.
8. Remove the cable and rear guide from the slide.

Installation Procedure




1. Sparingly lubricate cables using Silicon Grease GM P/N 12345579 or equivalent.
2. Install the cable and the rear guide to the slide.
3. Install the pin and C-clip to the slide.




4. Install the slide and/or guide to the sunroof actuator.




5. Install the sunroof actuator stop to the sunroof actuator.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

6. Install the sunroof actuator cable stop screw to the cable stop.

Tighten the sunroof actuator cable stop screw to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

7. Install the water gutter. Refer to Water Gutter Replacement (Water Gutter Replacement).
8. Install the sunroof actuator.
9. Adjust both cables with the slide and/or the guide. Refer to Slider Adjustment (Slider Adjustment).
