Component Tests and General Diagnostics
The following symptoms refer to mechanical operation of power seat adjusters with a power recliner. For electrical diagnosis refer to Diagnostic System Check - Power Seat Systems. Diagnostic System Check1. One adjuster reaches maximum horizontal position before the other adjuster.
Adjuster may be out of phase. Refer to Seat Adjuster Phase Adjustment - Power.
2. Seat does not move freely, the seat has to be lubricated.
Lubricate with Multi-Purpose Lubricant, Superlube(R) (GM P/N 12346241 or equivalent).
3. One adjuster will not move forward and backward. Drive shafts may be jammed or damaged. Refer to Seat Adjuster Mechanism Replacement - Power.
