Oil Pan Replacement - Lower

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the 4 splash shield bolts.
3. Remove the splash shield.
4. Drain the engine oil.
5. Remove the lower oil pan bolts.
6. Remove the lower oil pan from the upper oil pan.





7. Remove the oil level sensor bolts (if applicable).
8. Remove the oil level sensor from the oil pan (if applicable).
9. Clean the oil pan.
10. Clean the oil pan gasket surfaces.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the oil pan gasket.





2. Install the oil level sensor to the lower oil pan (if applicable).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the oil level sensor bolts (if applicable).
Tighten the oil level sensor bolts until fully seated and not stripped.





4. Install the lower oil pan to the upper oil pan.
5. Install the lower oil pan bolts.
Tighten the oil pan bolts to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).
6. Install the engine splash shield.
7. Install the 4 engine splash shield bolts.
Tighten the splash shield bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Fill the crankcase with engine oil.
