17. Camshaft Drive Sprocket Removal

Camshaft Drive Sprocket Removal

^ Tools Required
- J 42069 Timing Belt Alignment Kit





1. Install the J 42069-1 between camshaft drive sprocket 1 and 2 to hold the camshaft drive sprockets in place while loosening the bolt.
2. Install the J 42069-2 between camshaft drive sprocket 3 and 4 to hold the camshaft drive sprockets in place while loosening the bolt.





3. Loosen the camshaft drive sprocket bolts.

Important: Some of the camshaft lobes are under load from the lifters and may abruptly rotate with the locking tools removed.

4. Remove the camshaft locking tools and carefully rotate the camshafts to release the lifter pressure from the camshafts, if applicable.
5. Remove the camshaft drive sprocket bolts.
6. Remove the camshaft drive sprocket washers.
7. Remove the camshaft drive sprockets.
