66. Engine Oil Cooler Installation

Oil Cooler Installation





1. Install the engine oil cooler.
2. Apply a 2 mm (0.08 inch) bead of RTV silicone sealant, GM P/N 12346240, in the groove around the engine oil cooler cover in place of the old seal.
3. Install the engine oil cooler cover.





4. Install the engine oil cooler cover bolts (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the engine oil cooler cover bolts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the engine oil cooler inlet and outlet nuts (1).
Tighten the engine oil cooler inlet and outlet nuts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).





6. Install the oil cooler outlet line (1) to the engine block.
Tighten the oil cooler outlet line (1) to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the oil cooler inlet line (2) to the engine block.
Tighten the oil cooler inlet line to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
8. Install the oil filter cartridge housing to the engine block.
Tighten the oil filter cartridge housing to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).





9. Install the 4 new seals.
10. Install the oil cooler inlet line to the engine oil cooler.
Tighten the oil cooler inlet line to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
11. Install the oil cooler outlet line to the engine oil cooler.
Tighten the oil cooler outlet line to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
