Muffler Replacement - Left

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.





2. Remove the left exhaust muffler to resonator clamp nut (2).





3. Remove the muffler pipe flange bolts (1).





4. Remove the exhaust hanger insulator retainers.





5. Remove the exhaust hanger insulators from the support rods and the muffler.
6. Rotate and remove the left muffler from the resonator.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the left muffler to the resonator.
2. Install the exhaust hanger insulators to the support rods and the muffler.





3. Install the exhaust hanger insulator retainers to the support rods.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





4. Install the muffler pipe flange bolts (1).
Tighten the muffler pipe flange bolts (1) to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).





5. Install the left exhaust muffler to resonator clamp nut (2).
Tighten the left exhaust muffler to resonator clamp nut (2) to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
6. Inspect all exhaust system clearances.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Inspect the exhaust system for leaks.
