Blower Motor: Service and Repair
BLOWER MOTOR REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
CAUTION: Unplug the blower motor before removal. Blower motor case contact with any ground may start the fan and cause personal Injury.
1. Remove the IP carrier.
2. Remove the defogger outlet vent duct.
3. Remove the SIR mounting bracket bolts.
4. Remove the SIR mounting bracket.
5. Remove the blower motor housing screws.
6. Remove the blower motor housing.
7. Remove the blower motor screws.
8. Remove the blower motor from the blower motor housing.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the blower motor to the blower motor housing.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the blower motor screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 4 N.m (35 lb in).
3. Install the blower motor housing.
4. Install the blower motor housing screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 4 N.m (35 lb in).
5. Install the defogger outlet duct.
6. Install the SIR mounting bracket.
7. Install the SIR mounting bracket bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
8. Install the IP carrier.
