Coolant Pipe Replacement - IntakeRemoval Procedure
1. Remove the intake manifold.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the engine coolant temperature/gage sensor (3) and the engine coolant temperature sensor (2).
3. Remove the hoses from the coolant bridge (1).
4. Remove the coolant bridge fittings (4) and the coolant bridge.
5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
6. Drain the engine oil.
7. Remove the oil filter housing.
8. Loosen the oil cooler outlet line at the engine block (1).
9. Lower the vehicle.
10. Remove the engine oil cooler fitting (1) from the engine oil cooler cover.
11. Reposition the oil cooler outlet line (3) in order to access the coolant pipe mounting bolts.
12. Remove the heater core bypass hose.
13. Remove the coolant intake pipe hose (1).
14. Remove the radiator outlet hose (2).
15. Remove the support bolt (3).
16. Remove the coolant pipe bolts (5)
17. Slide the coolant intake pipe (4) rearward under the front of the cowl to remove the pipe.
18. Remove the intake pipe seal (6).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the intake pipe seal (6).
2. Slide the coolant intake pipe (4) under the front of the cowl and forward into the proper mounting position.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the coolant intake pipe bolts (5).
Tighten the coolant intake pipe bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the coolant support intake bolt (3).
Tighten the coolant support intake pipe bolt to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the radiator outlet hose (2).
6. Install the coolant intake pipe hose (1).
7. Install the heater core bypass hose.
8. Reposition the oil cooler outlet line (3).
9. Install the oil cooler outlet line (3) and the fitting (1) to the engine oil cooler cover.
Tighten the fitting to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
10. Raise the vehicle.
11. Tighten the oil cooler outlet line (1) to the engine block.
Tighten the line to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
12. Install the oil filter housing.
13. Lower the vehicle.
14. Install the coolant bridge and fittings.
Tighten the fittings to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)
Install the hoses to the coolant bridge (1).
15. Connect the electrical connector to the engine coolant temperature/gage sensor (3) and the engine coolant temperature sensor (2).
16. Install the intake manifold.
17. Fill the crankcase with engine oil.
