Front Side Door Window Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Express Window Down Caution in Cautions and Notices.

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disable the SIR system, if equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Roll the window half way down.
3. Tape the window into place.
4. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement Service and Repair
5. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement Service and Repair
6. Remove the Inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate if equipped. Refer to SIR Sensor Mounting Plate Replacement - Front Door (SIR Sensor Mounting Plate Replacement - Front Door).
7. Remove the front door inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement).
8. Remove the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement (Power Mirror Replacement).
9. Remove the front door window guide channel. Refer to Window Guide Channel Replacement - Front Door (Window Guide Channel Replacement - Front Door).
10. Remove the window weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement (Door Window Weatherstrip).




11. Remove the front door window guide from the sash.
12. Remove the window regulator/motor. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Service and Repair).
13. Remove the tape from the window.




14. Remove the front door window through outer door frame, Pull straight up on the window until released from the door channels.

Installation Procedure




1. Install front door window through outer door frame.




2. Align the guides on the window to the channels, the push then window downward seating them into the channels.
3. Pull the window half way and tape the window in place.
4. Install the window regulator/motor. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Install the window weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement (Door Window Weatherstrip).
6. Install the front door window lower channel. Refer to Window Guide Channel Replacement - Front Door (Window Guide Channel Replacement - Front Door).
7. Install the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement (Power Mirror Replacement).
8. Install the front door inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement).
9. Install the Inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate if equipped. Refer to SIR Sensor Mounting Plate Replacement - Front Door (SIR Sensor Mounting Plate Replacement - Front Door).
10. Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement Service and Repair
11. Install front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement Service and Repair
12. Remove tape from the window.
13. Enable the SIR system, if equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
