Window Guide Rail Replacement - Front Door

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disable the SIR system, if equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Roll the window all the way up.
3. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement Service and Repair.
4. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement Service and Repair.
5. Remove the inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate, if equipped. Refer to SIR Sensor Mounting Plate Replacement - Front Door (SIR Sensor Mounting Plate Replacement - Front Door).




6. Remove the guide rail bolts.
7. Remove the guide rail.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the guide rail.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the guide rail bolts.

Tighten the guide rail bolts to 7 Nm (62 lb in).

3. Adjust the guide rail:

1. Roll the window part way down.
2. Loosen both the bolts on the guide rail adjuster.
3. Roll the window back up and tighten both the guide rail adjuster bolts.

Tighten the guide rail adjuster bolts to 7 Nm (62 lb in).

4. Check the to ensure that the window seats into the door frame.
5. Install the inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate, if equipped. Refer to SIR Sensor Mounting Plate Replacement - Front Door (SIR Sensor Mounting Plate Replacement - Front Door).
6. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement Service and Repair.
7. Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement Service and Repair.
8. Enable the SIR system, if equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
