Wiper Motor: Service and Repair
WIPER MOTOR REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the windshield wiper transmission.
3. Remove the upper link (1) of the transmission from the motor crank arm (6).
4. Unclip the harness connector from the wiper transmission assembly.
5. Remove the crank arm nut (7) from the wiper motor (4).
6. Remove the crank arm from the wiper motor.
7. Remove the wiper motor bracket bolts (5) from the wiper motor.
8. Remove the wiper motor from the wiper transmission assembly (2).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the wiper motor (4) to the wiper transmission assembly (2).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the wiper motor bracket bolts (5) to the wiper motor.
Tighten
Tighten the wiper motor bracket bolts to 4 N.m (35 lb in).
3. Install the crank arm (6) to the wiper motor.
4. Install the crank arm nut (7) to the wiper motor.
Tighten
Tighten the crank arm nut to 4 N.m (35 lb in).
5. Attach the harness connector to the wiper transmission assembly.
6. Install the upper link (1) to the crank arm (6).
7. Install the windshield wiper transmission.
8. Close the hood.
