Headlamp: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the upper filler panel.
3. Remove the fasteners (2) retaining the headlamp to the headlamp mounting bracket.
4. Remove the nut retaining the headlamp to the lower rail.
5. Pull the headlamp forward and rotate in order to disengage the nylon grommet at the outboard edge of the headlamp. A firm pull may be required. The nylon grommet will stay on the stud.
6. Disconnect the headlamp connector.
7. Remove the headlamp from the vehicle.
8. Remove the nylon grommet from the headlamp assembly and install the grommet to the body.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Do not push too hard while connecting the electrical connector or you could push the connector through the headlamp housing.
1. Connect the headlamp electrical connector.
2. Place the headlamp over the lower rail stud.
3. Position the outboard portion of the headlamp in order to align the nylon grommet with the headlamp mounting bracket.
4. Press the headlamp rearward in order to engage the nylon grommet with the headlamp mounting bracket.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
5. Install the nut that retains the headlamp to the headlamp mounting bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the mounting nut to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
6. Install the fasteners (2) that retain the headlamp to the headlamp mounting bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the headlamp mounting bolts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
7. Install the upper filler panel.
8. Close the hood.
