Electric Park Lock Module - Disassemble





1. Remove the lock cylinder set. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement - On Vehicle.
2. Place the steering column in the center position.
3. Use a small screwdriver to pull the filler plug out of the bottom of the lower trim covers.





4. Insert the small screwdriver into the filler plug hole in the bottom of the lower trim covers.
5. Use the screwdriver to push up on the manual override of the electric park lock (1).
6. Turn the key to the lock position. Remove the key.





7. Remove the necessary wire straps from the wire harness assembly.
8. Disconnect the power tilt and telescope toggle switch assembly connector from the telescope module at the base of the column.





9. Gently pry the steering column closeout trim covers (1) from the lower trim covers (2).
10. Remove the 2 pan head tapping screws (4) from the lower trim covers (2).
11. Remove the lower trim covers (2) with the power tilt and telescope toggle switch assembly (3) still attached to the trim covers.
12. If necessary, pop the power tilt and telescope toggle switch assembly (3) out from the lower trim covers (2).





13. Remove 1 pan head tapping screw (2) from the upper trim covers (1).
14. Remove the upper trim covers (1) with the steering column closeout trim covers (3) still attached.





15. If necessary, remove the steering column closeout trim covers from the upper trim covers.





16. Remove the black connector (2) from the electric park lock (1).
17. Remove the tapping screw (3) from the electric park lock (1) mounting hole and the ignition key alarm switch assembly.
18. Pry the electric park lock (1) off of the lock module assembly.
