Ignition Switch

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle.
3. Remove the theft deterrent module 2) from the lock module assembly.
4. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.





5. Remove the key alarm connector (1) from the lock module (4).
6. Remove the ignition switch retaining screws (3).
7. Remove the Ignition switch (2).

Installation Procedure





1. Install the ignition switch (2) to the steering column.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the ignition switch retaining screws (3).
- Tighten the ignition switch retaining screws to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).





3. Connect the ignition switch electrical connectors.
4. Install the theft deterrent module to the lock module.
5. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle.
6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
