Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

General Information

An integrated cellular telephone is an available vehicle option. When equipped, the cellular telephone displays are integrated into the instrument cluster to allow the display of phone status information on the DIC. The telephone displays on the DIC are intended to resemble the information displayed on the cellular telephone handset, so the driver can perform hands-free operation of the cellular telephone. The IPC and cellular telephone communicate via class 2 serial data messages. The IPC control the information on the DIC and driver warning messages will interrupt telephone displays because of a higher priority.

Most cellular telephone displays on the DIC are displayed due to requests by the cellular telephone via class 2 serial data messages.
