Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment

Front-to-Rear, Side-to-Side





1. Loosen the fasteners (3) securing the rear compartment lid (1) to the rear compartment hinges (2).
2. Align the rear compartment lid (1) in order to achieve an equal 3 mm +/- 1 mm gap around the entire perimeter of the rear compartment lid.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Tighten the hinge fasteners (3).

Tighten the hinge fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).





4. If further adjustment is necessary, perform the following steps:

* Remove the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement (Without Sunshade) (Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement (Without Sunshade))Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement (With Sunshade) (Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement (With Sunshade)) in Interior Trim.
* Loosen the fasteners that secure the rear compartment trim to the rear shelf.
* Adjust the rear compartment lid in order to achieve an equal 3 mm +/- 1 mm gap around the entire perimeter of the rear compartment lid.
* Tighten the rear compartment hinge fasteners.

Tighten the fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).





Up and Down Adjustment





1. Perform the following steps in order to adjust the rear compartment lid height (up and down):

* Remove the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement (Without Sunshade) (Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement (Without Sunshade))Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement (With Sunshade) (Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement (With Sunshade)) in Interior Trim.
* Adjust the rear compartment lid height by turning the adjustment screw (1) in or out.
* Adjust the rear compartment lid in order to achieve a flush fit to the body.





2. Adjust the rear compartment lid rubber bumpers in order to adjust rear compartment lid flush with the rear quarter panels.

* Loosen the rubber bumpers (2) in order to raise the rear compartment lid.
* Tighten the rubber bumpers (2) in order to lower the rear compartment lid.

3. Install the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement (Without Sunshade) (Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement (Without Sunshade))Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement (With Sunshade) (Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement (With Sunshade)) in Interior Trim.
4. Adjust the rear compartment latch.
