Power Brake Booster Inlet Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle to catch the power steering fluid.
2. Remove the power steering pressure hose (1) from the power steering pump.
3. Remove the power steering pressure hose retaining nut (2) from the front of the engine.





4. Remove the master cylinder retaining nuts and position the master cylinder (2) six inches away from the hydra boost unit.
5. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the hydro boost unit.
6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.





7. Remove the fastener (1) holding the power steering pressure hose to the frame.
8. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the power steering pressure hose to the vehicle.
2. Using the fastener (1) install the power steering pressure hose to the frame.
3. Lower the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





4. Install the power steering pressure hose to the hydra boost unit.
- Tighten the power steering pressure hose to the hydro boost unit to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).





5. Position the master cylinder to the hydro boost unit.
6. Install the retaining nuts to the master cylinder
- Tighten the master cylinder retaining nuts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pressure pump.
- Tighten the power steering pressure hose to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
8. Install the power steering retaining nut to the front of the engine.
- Tighten the power steering pressure hose retaining nut to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
9. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System.
