Control Module HVAC: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURECAUTION: Refer to SIR Handling Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Remove the IP compartment.Refer to Storage Compartment Replacement - IP in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
2. Remove the right sound insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
3. Remove the DIM module from the bracket. Refer to Instrument Panel Module Replacement in Body Control Module System.
4. Remove the rear two DIM module bracket fasteners.
5. Reposition the DIM module bracket to gain access to the air inlet actuator.
6. Remove the blower motor speed control module retaining fasteners.
IMPORTANT: Note the routing location of the blower motor and the blower motor speed control module wiring.
Improper wire routing will cause blower motor and blower motor speed control module wires to be pinched or chaffed by the DIM module bracket and cause wiring failure.
7. Remove the electrical connector (2) from the blower motor control module (1).
8. Remove the electrical connection from the blower motor.
9. Remove the blower motor control module (1) from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the blower motor control module (1) to the lower mounting location.
Once the module is in position it should seat flat against the HVAC case.
2. Route and reconnect the electrical connectors to the blower control module (1) and the blower motor (2).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the blower motor control module retaining fasteners.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).
4. Position the DIM module bracket to its original position.
5. Install the rear two DIM module bracket retaining fasteners.
Install the blower motor control module retaining fasteners.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).
6. Install the DIM module into the bracket. Refer to Instrument Panel Module Replacement in Body Control Module System.
7. Install the right sound insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
8. Install the IP compartment.Refer to Storage Compartment Replacement - IP in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
