Coaxial Cable Replacement - Cellular Telephone (UE1)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the rear seat back.
2. Remove the rear shelf panel.
3. Remove right rear sail panel.
4. Remove the sound deadening foam (1) from the right side of the vehicle.




5. Disconnect the coaxial cable (2) from the inner antenna coupling (1).
6. Disconnect the rear defogger electrical connector (4).
7. Remove the rear defogger ground / coaxial cable hold down fastener (3).
8. Remove the coaxial cable wire hold down (5).




9. Disconnect the coaxial cable (1) from the VCU.
10. Remove the trunk side trim from the right side of the vehicle.

IMPORTANT: Note the coaxial cable routing in order to correctly position the coaxial antenna cable during reassembly.

11. Pull the coaxial cable into the rear compartment.
12. Carefully remove the electrical tape from the wiring harness and remove the coaxial cable from the wiring harness.
13. Remove the coaxial cable from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Reinstall the coaxial cable to the wiring harness, and re-tape the body wiring harness.
2. Route the cable into the passenger compartment.
3. Connect the coaxial cable (1) to the VCU.




4. Connect the rear defogger electrical connector (4).
5. Connect the coaxial cable (2) to the interior antenna coupling (1).
6. Install the wire hold retainer (5).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

7. Install the rear defroster ground / coaxial cable hold down fastener (3).

Tighten
Tighten the fastener to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).




8. Install the sound deadening foam (1).
9. Install the trunk side trim.
10. Install the sail panel.
11. Install the rear shelf panel.
12. Install the rear seat back.
