Voice Commands

The voice commands feature allows you to control the system by voice. To use this feature, press the phone button on the steering wheel controls. An audible beep will be heard and a bar will be shown on the bottom of the display. The system recognizes certain commands. By pressing the voice button and saying "What can I say", the system will tell you what commands are available.

Setting Voice Command Time
You can set the amount of time THAT the system listens for commands after the last recognized command. From the Setup menu select Speech Commands. With Listen For highlighted, use the left/right arrow keys to set.

Setting Mute Level
When the voice commands function has been entered, audio volume can be lowered so that the system can hear speech commands. From the Setup menu select Speech Commands. With Mute Level highlighted, use the left/right arrow keys to set.

Global Commands
To view or change the global commands, from the Setup menu select Speech Commands. Select Global Commands, use the arrow keys to set.

Custom Commands
If the system is misunderstanding you, or if you prefer to use a different command, you can improve or customize your voice commands by recording new commands. From the Setup Menu select Speech Commands. Use the arrow keys to select the command you want to replace.

News
From the MAIN screen, select News and press the center button. From the Index page, press the Update soft key. Use the arrow keys and the center button to scroll through and select. The center button can be pressed to have the news story read to you.

E-mail
The system has the capability to receive e-mail and send a simple reply to an e-mail. The e-mail can be seen on the display. The systems text to speech function allows it to read the e-mail to you. To select the e-mail function, from the MAIN screen select E-mail and press the center button. Use the left/right arrow keys to switch between the Inbox and the Outbox. From the Inbox screen, press the Update soft key. This will retrieve any new e-mail and send any replies that are in the Outbox.

Reading E-mail
To read an e-mail use the up/down arrow keys to highlight, then press the center button or the Select soft key. To scroll down and read the e-mail use the up/down arrow keys. To have the e-mail read to you, press the center button.

Replying to E-mail
Some standard replies are available or you can create a new one. When viewing the e-mail, press the Reply soft key. A list of replies will be shown. To add a new reply to this list, press the New soft key. Use the keypad and arrow keys to create a reply. Press the Select soft key. The new reply will be added to the list. To select a reply, use the up/down arrow keys to select one. Press the center button. Your reply will be sent to the outbox. The next time the e-mail is updated, the reply will be sent.

Deleting E-mail
At the E-mail Inbox, use the Delete soft key to delete individual e-mail. To delete all e-mail in the inbox, press the Menu soft key. Use the up/down arrow keys to scroll down to Clear Inbox. Press the center button to delete all mail. The same can be done to delete replies in the outbox.
