Brake Lamp: Description and Operation

STOPLAMPS

The STOP LP fuse in the rear fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the normally open stoplamp switch. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the switch contacts close. The battery positive voltage flows to the left stoplamp assemblies, to the right stoplamp assemblies, and to the Center High Mounted Stoplamp (CHMSL). The left stoplamp and the CHMSL have ground at G402. The right stoplamp has ground at G401.
