A/C Discharge Hose/Line

DISCHARGE HOSE REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400 Halogen Leak Detector

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the upper filler panel.
3. Remove the fastener from the discharge hose and disconnect the discharge hose from the condenser.
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
5. Remove the front air deflector.




6. Remove the discharge hose fastener (2) from the A/C compressor.
7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor.
8. Remove the discharge hose (3) from the compressor.
9. Remove the discharge hose.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Inspect the sealing washers for damage.

Replace the sealing washers that show any signs of damage.

Sealing washers do not require lubrication.




1. Install the discharge hose (3).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Connect the discharge hose to the compressor.

Tighten
Tighten the discharge hose fastener (2) to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

3. Connect the electrical connector to the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor (1).
4. Lower the vehicle.




5. Connect the discharge hose to the condenser.

Tighten
Tighten the discharge hose fastener to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

6. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
7. Leak test the fittings of the repaired or reinstalled component using J 39400.
8. Install the front air deflector.
9. Install the upper filler panel.
