Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (FE1, FE3)

REAR WHEEL BEARING/HUB

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the tire and wheel.
3. Remove the brake rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement - Rear in Brakes and Traction Control.
4. Disconnect the ABS sensor wire connector.





5. Remove the wheel bearing and hub retainer bolts.
6. Remove the wheel bearing and hub and brake shield.

Installation Procedure





1. Clean the lower control arm face and bore before installing the wheel bearing and hub.
2. Install the wheel bearing and hub and brake shield to the lower control arm.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the wheel bearing and hub retaining bolts.
^ Tighten the wheel bearing and hub retaining bolts to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.).





4. Install the brake rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement - Rear in Brakes and Traction Control.
5. Install the ABS sensor wire connector.
6. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
7. Lower the vehicle.
