Lock Replacement - Door

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Ensure the window is in the full up position.
2. Remove the trim panel.
Remove the water deflector.
4. Remove the lock rod shield (1) from the module.




5. Unsnap the clip to the handle rod.
6. Remove the lock rods from the lock.
7. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
8. Remove the 3 fasteners.
9. Remove the lock assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Hold the lock assembly tight against the door facing prior to torquing the fasteners.




1. Install the lock assembly (1) to the door.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the 3 fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the fastener to 7 N.m (62 lb.in).

3. Connect the electrical connectors.

IMPORTANT: The lock rod retainer clips distort easily. The retainer clips should be replaced if damaged during the removal procedure.

4. Secure the lock rod and door handle rod (3) to the lock assembly.
5. Engage the retainer clips.
6. Install the lock rod shield (2).
7. Install the water deflector.
8. Install the trim panel.
