Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Open the driver door.
2. Remove the fasteners (2) in order to disengage the insulator (3) from the lower instrument panel.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
4. Slide the insulator panel rearward in order to clear the emergency brake bracket.
5. Remove the insulator panel.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Make sure the forward edge of the insulator is properly installed onto the retainer studs (1,4) at the front of the dash. Failure to properly install the insulator panel may result in brake pedal and/or accelerator pedal binding.
1. Position the insulator panel (3) to the retainer studs (1,4) under the instrument panel.
2. Push forward in order to secure the insulator panel to the retainer studs.
3. Connect the electrical connector.
IMPORTANT: Ensure all electrical connections are pushed forward in order to prevent interference with the insulator.
4. Push the electrical connections forward.
5. Lift upward on the insulator panel.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
6. Install the fasteners to the insulator panel.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
7. Close the driver door.
