12. Input Shaft End Play Measurement

- J 39686 Input End Play Check Tool
- J 25025-7A Dial Indicator Post
- J 8001 Dial Indicator





1. Install the J 39686 into the case barrel. Install the J 25025-7A.





2. Locate the J tab on the input shaft. The arrow on the tab should have a 90 ° orientation.

IMPORTANT: The washer must rest flat on the case cover seal.

3. Rotate the threaded shaft clockwise until the shaft is tight. Leave enough space for the collar.
4. Insert the collar. Install the J 8001.





5. Push down on the handle and check the end play. The end play specification is 0.10-0.85 mm (0.004-0.033 inch). If the measurement is out of the specification range, determine the appropriate selective thrust washer for installation when you reassemble the input shaft.
6. Remove the dial indicator and the post.
