Antenna: Service and Repair

POWER ANTENNA ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the rear compartment trim.
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
3. Disconnect the antenna coaxial cable.
4. Remove the antenna drain hose (2) from the hole in the floor pan.
5. Remove the ground strap fastener (5).
6. Remove the lower fastener (3).
7. Pull the antenna assembly downward in order to remove from the spacer (1).
8. Remove the antenna assembly.
9. Remove the antenna mounting bracket fasteners.
10. Remove the mounting bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the antenna mounting bracket to the antenna.
2. Install the fasteners in order to retain the mounting bracket.
3. Apply a soap and water solution to the inside of the spacer (1).
4. Insert the top of the antenna up through the spacer.
Push to secure.
5. Align the lower leg of the antenna bracket to the hole in the inner quarter.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

6. Install the antenna lower fastener (3).

Tighten
Tighten the fastener to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

7. Align the ground strap (4) to the upper bracket.
Install the ground strap fastener (5).

Tighten
Tighten the fastener to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

8. Install the antenna drain hose (2) to the hole in the floor pan.
9. Connect the antenna coaxial cable.
10. Connect the electrical connectors.
11. Install the rear compartment trim.
