Fuel Tank Filler Door Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Release the fuel filler door (4).
2. Remove the fuel filler pocket (1). Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Mark the location of the door hinge with a wax pencil in order to assure proper alignment after reassembly.
4. Remove the 2 nuts from inside the body panel.
5. Remove the door (4).
6. Disengage the fuel cap release strap from the fuel filler door.


Installation Procedure




1. Secure the fuel cap release strap to the filler door.
2. Position the door (4) to the alignment marks made during removal.
3. Install the 2 nuts in order to secure the door (4) to the body panel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Adjust the alignment of the door, to a 3 mm gap around the entire door.

Tighten the 2 nuts (3) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

5. Inspect the alignment, readjust the door as necessary.
6. Install the fuel filler pocket (1). Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Close the fuel filler door (4).
