Trim Plate Replacement - Console Rear

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Power the seats full forward.
2. Using a flat-bladed tool, release the auxiliary blower switch knob from the auxiliary blower switch.
3. Open the console door.
4. Remove the two upper fasteners from the trim plate cover.

IMPORTANT: The lower fasteners are hidden under the carpeted side trim panels at the rear of the console on both sides.

5. Pull the rear edge of the carpeting back on the console side trim panel near the edge of the auxiliary air outlet deflectors in order to expose the lower fasteners.
6. Remove the two lower trim plate cover fasteners.




7. Carefully pull rearward the trim plate cover and disengage the linkage from the rear air outlet deflector.
8. Disconnect the rear cigar lighter electrical connectors.
9. Remove the fasteners securing the auxiliary A/C air outlet air distribution duct to rear trim plate cover.
10. Pull outward and remove the fasteners securing the rear auxiliary blower switch to the rear trim plate cover.
11. Remove the switch.
12. Remove the rear trim plate cover.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Position the rear trim plate cover to the console.
2. Install the rear auxiliary blower switch to the rear trim plate cover.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).




4. Install the fasteners securing the auxiliary A/C air outlet air distribution duct to rear trim plate cover.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).

5. Connect the electrical connectors to the rear cigar lighter.
6. Connect the linkage to the rear air outlet deflector.
7. Position the rear trim plate cover to the rear console.
8. Install the lower trim plate cover fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the lower fasteners to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).

9. Secure the lower console side trim panel carpeting.
10. Install the upper trim plate cover fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the upper fasteners to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).




11. Install the auxiliary blower switch knob to the auxiliary blower switch.
12. Close the console door.
13. Reposition the seats.
