Interior Moulding / Trim: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the rear seat back.
2. Remove the rear compartment front trim panel.
3. Remove the rear compartment she trim panels.
4. Remove the 4 fasteners (1) from the OnStar(R) module bracket assembly (2).
5. Disengage the retainers (5) securing the coaxial cable (6) to the seat back panel.
6. Lower the module bracket assembly into the rear compartment.




7. Remove the 2 nuts (3) from the lower section of the seat back panel (1).
8. Lift upward in order to disengage the upper tabs from the pass-through panel.
9. Carefully lay the electronics bay board (1) into the rear compartment.




10. Remove the following modules:
^ Radio Amplifier/Radio Interface Module RIM (1)
^ Body Control Module BCM (2)
^ Door Lock Module RFA (3)
^ Continuously Variable Road Sensing Suspension Module CVRSS (4)




11. Remove the following relay centers and fuse blocks:
^ Rear Fuse Block (5)
^ Rear Compartment Relay Center 1,2,3 (9)
^ Rear Compartment Relay Center 4 (11)
^ Power Door Lock Relay (13)
12. Disconnect the electrical ground (2)
13. Remove and transfer the pass-through rubber grommet (10)
14. Remove the electronics bay board from the rear compartment.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Place the electronics bay board into the rear compartment.
2. Install the following relay centers and fuse blocks:
^ Rear Fuse Block (5)
^ Rear Compartment Relay Center 1,2,3 (9)
^ Rear Compartment Relay Center 4 (11)
^ Power Door Lock Relay (13)




3. Install the following modules:
^ Radio Amplifier/Radio Interface Module RIM (1)
^ Body Control Module BCM (2)
^ Door Lock Module RFA (3)
^ Continuously Variable Road Sensing Suspension Module CVRSS (4)
4. Lift bay board and secure the locating tabs on the bay board to the slots in the pass through panel.
5. Ensure the tabs on the seat back panel are secure to the pass through panel brace.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




6. Install the fasteners (3) in order to secure the electronics bay board.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

7. Connect the electrical ground.
8. Secure the ground fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten fasteners to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




9. Install the OnStar(R) module bracket assembly (2) to the seat back panel.
10. Install the 4 fasteners (1) to the OnStar(R) module bracket assembly (2).

Tighten
Tighten the 4 fasteners to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

11. Engage the retainers (5) securing the coaxial cable (6) to the seat back panel.
12. Install the rear compartment side trim panels.
13. Install the rear compartment front trim panel.
14. Install the rear seat back.
15. Perform the OnStar(R) reconfiguration procedure. Refer to Vehicle Interface Unit (VIU)/Vehicle Communication Unit (VCU) Reprogramming in Cellular Phone.
