Door Lock Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Ensure the window is in the full up position.




2. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement (Door Water Deflector Replacement).
4. Remove the lock rod shield (1) from the module.




5. Unsnap the clip to the handle rod.
6. Remove the lock rods from the lock.
7. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
8. Remove the 3 fasteners.
9. Remove the lock assembly.


Installation Procedure





Important: Hold the lock assembly tight against the door facing prior to torquing the fasteners.


1. Install the lock assembly (1) to the door.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the 3 fasteners.

Tighten the fasteners to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

3. Connect the electrical connectors.

Important: The lock rod retainer clips distort easily. The retainer clips should be replaced if damaged during the removal procedure.


4. Secure the lock rod and door handle rod (3) to the lock assembly.
5. Engage the retainer clips.
6. Install the lock rod shield (2).
7. Install the water deflector. Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement (Door Water Deflector Replacement).
8. Install the trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
