Instrument Panel Carrier Support Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Assembly Replacement).




2. Remove the 4 fasteners (4) retaining the center brace (5) to the hinge pillar tie bar (1) and the floor pan.
3. Remove the center brace (5).
4. Remove the 6 fasteners (2, 3) retaining the hinge pillar tie bar (1) to the body.
Remove the hinge pillar tie bar (1).




5. Remove the fasteners (1, 3, 4) retaining the tie bar bracket (2) to the body.
6. Remove the bracket (2).
7. Remove the park brake assembly. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement in Park Brake.




8. Remove the fasteners (2, 3, 4, 5) retaining the reinforcement (1) to the body.
Remove the reinforcement (1).


Installation Procedure




1. Install the reinforcement (1) to the body.
2. Loosely install all of the reinforcement fasteners (2, 3, 4, 5).
3. Bolt (6) is installed when the park brake assembly is installed.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Hold upward on the reinforcement bracket and secure the bolt (2).

Tighten the bolt (2) to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

5. Secure the remaining fasteners (3, 4, 5).

Tighten the fasteners to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

6. Install the park brake assembly. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement in Park Brake.




7. Install the hinge pillar tie bar bracket (2) to the body.
Install the bracket fasteners (1, 3, 4).

Tighten the fasteners to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).




8. Install the hinge pillar tie bar (1).
9. Install the 6 fasteners (2, 3) in order to retain the hinge pillar tie bar to the vehicle.

Tighten the nuts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

10. Install the center brace (5).
11. Install the 4 center brace fasteners (4).

Tighten the fasteners to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

12. Install the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Assembly Replacement).
