Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.





2. Remove the power steering cooler hose from the power steering pump.





3. Remove the power steering cooler hose retaining bolt from the cylinder head.
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.





5. Remove the power steering cooler hose from the frame rail clip (1).
6. Remove the power steering cooler hose from the radiator support clips.





7. Remove the power steering cooler hose (2) from the power steering cooler.
8. Remove the power steering cooler hose (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the power steering cooler hose (2) to the vehicle.
2. Install the power steering cooler hose (2) to the power steering cooler (3).
3. Install the power steering cooler hose to the radiator support clips.





4. Install the power steering cooler hose to the frame rail clip (1).





5. Install the power steering cooler hose to the power steering pump.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





6. Install the power steering cooler hose retaining bolt at the cylinder head.
- Tighten the power steering cooler retaining bolt to 13 Nm (115 inch lbs.).
7. Bleed the power steering system.
8. Inspect the power steering system for leaks.
