P/S Pressure Hose Replacement
Power Steering Pressure Hose ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Remove the power steering pressure hose (1) from the power steering pump (2).
3. Remove the power steering pressure hose retaining clip from the engine block.
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
5. Remove the power steering gear heat shield.
6. Remove the power steering pressure hose, retaining bolt from the cylinder head.
7. Remove the plastic line retainer (2).
8. Remove the power steering pressure hose (1) from the power steering gear (4).
9. Remove the power steering pressure hose (1) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the power steering pressure hose (1) to the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the power steering pressure hose (1) to the power steering gear (4).
- Tighten the power steering pressure hose at the power steering gear to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the plastic line retainer (2).
4. Install the power steering gear heat shield.
5. Install the power steering pressure hose retaining clip to the engine block.
6. Install the power steering pressure hose retaining bolt to the cylinder head.
- Tighten the power steering pressure hose retaining bolt to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Install the power steering pressure hose (1) to the power steering pump (2).
- Tighten the power steering pressure hose at the power steering pump to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
9. Bleed the power steering system.
10. Inspect the power steering system for leaks.
