Battery Cable Replacement (Negative)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT:
^ Always use replacement cables that are of the same type, diameter and length of the cables that you are replacing.
^ Always route the replacement cable the same way as the original cable.




1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the right front gusset.
3. Remove the nut securing the battery negative cable to the engine.




4. Remove the nut (1) securing the battery negative cable to the side rail.
5. Remove the battery negative cable from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Position the battery negative cable to the vehicle.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the nut (1) securing the battery negative cable to the side rail.

Tighten
Tighten the battery negative cable to side rail nut to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).




3. Install the nut securing the battery negative cable to the engine.

Tighten
Tighten the battery negative cable to engine nut to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

4. Install the right front gusset.
5. Connect the battery negative cable.
