Tilt Lever Replacement-On Vehicle

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Handling Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Tilt the steering column all the way down.





2. Grip the lever firmly and unscrew (turning counterclockwise), removing it from the column.

Installation Procedure





1. Add light duty threadlocking compound to the tilt lever threads.
2. Install the lever to the column and twist clockwise to engage threads a minimum of four turns. Be sure that the bend in the lever is positioned forward.
