Door Replacement - Front

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the door trim panel.
2. Remove the door module.
3. Remove the water deflector.
4. Remove the garnish molding.
5. Remove the window inner belt sealing strip.
6. Remove the window.
7. Remove the window regulator.
8. Remove the latch.
9. Remove the outside door handle.
10. Remove the window run channel.
11. Remove the reveal molding.
12. Remove the outside rear view mirror.
13. Remove the weather-strip.
14. Remove the front auxiliary sealing strip.
15. Remove the bottom auxiliary sealing strip.
16. Remove the check link.
17. Separate the door wire harness conduit (2) from the connector.
18. Remove the intermediate hinge fasteners (1) from both hinges.




19. Disconnect the door wire harness from the body wire harness.
20. With the aid of an assistant, lift the door in order to remove it from the vehicle.
21. Remove the door hinges.




22. Remove the wiring harness clips (2) from the inner door panel.
23. Remove the rubber conduit and the wiring harness (1) from the door.
24. Remove all the plastic nuts and retainers from the door shell.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install all the retainers into the door shell that were removed during disassembly.
2. Install the door wiring harness clips (2) to the inner door panel.
3. Route the wiring harness and the conduit in the door.
4. Install the door hinges.
5. With the aid of an assistant, align the door hinge halves.
6. Lower the door so the hinge halves mate together.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

IMPORTANT: Use LOCTITE(R) Blue, GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent prior to the installing the bolts.




7. Install the intermediate door hinge fasteners (1).

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).




8. Install the wiring conduit over the door wire harness connector.
9. Install the check link.




10. Connect the door wire harness to the body wire harness.
11. Install the bottom auxiliary sealing strip.
12. Install the front auxiliary sealing strip.
13. Install the weatherstrip.
14. Install the outside rear view mirror.
15. Install the reveal molding.
16. Install the window run channel.
17. Install the outside door handle.
18. Install the latch.
19. Install the window regulator.
20. Install the window.
21. Install the window inner belt sealing strip.
22. Install the garnish molding.
23. Install the water deflector.
24. Install the door module.
25. Install the door trim panel.
26. Check the door for proper adjustment. Refer to Door Adjustment.
