Multifunction, Turn Signal Lever
Removal ProcedureCaution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle.
3. Remove the steering column wire harness tie straps (2).
4. Disconnect the steering column control module electrical connectors (2).
5. Open the lower steering column wire harness shield (1) and remove the steering column wire harness (2).
Note the direction of the steering column wiring harness is routed in the lower steering column wiring harness shield for reinstallation.
6. Disconnect the multifunction switch electrical connectors (1, 2, and 3).
7. Remove the multifunction switch retaining screws.
8. Remove the multifunction switch (1).
Installation Procedure
Important: The electrical contact must rest on the turn signal cancel cam assembly.
1. Install the multifunction switch (1).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the multifunction switch retaining screws.
Tighten the multifunction switch retaining screws to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).
3. Connect the multifunction switch electrical connectors (1, 2, and 3).
4. Install the steering column wire harness (2) to the lower steering column wire harness shield (1).
5. Connect the steering column control module electrical connectors (2).
6. Install the steering column wire harness tie straps.
7. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle.
8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
