Front Seat Recliner Position Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to SIR Handling Caution.

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.
2. Remove the front bucket seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket).
3. Remove the seat back trim cover. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement (Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement).




4. Remove retainer clip from the recliner motor end of the recliner shaft.




5. Slide the recliner shaft out of the outboard side of the recliner motor sensor far enough to clear the sensor.
6. Disconnect sensor electrical connector from beneath the seat.
7. Release the recliner sensor from the recliner motor.



Installation Procedure

1. Install the recliner sensor to the recliner motor.
The recliner sensor snaps onto the recliner motor.




2. Slide recliner shaft back through the recliner sensor and recliner motor.




3. Install the retaining clip to the recliner shaft.
4. Connect the recliner motor electrical connector.
5. Install the seat back trim cover. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement (Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement).
6. Install the front bucket seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket).
7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System.
8. Calibrate the seat. Refer to Memory Seat Calibration.
