Instantaneous Fuel Economy

The instantaneous fuel economy is a function of distance divided by fuel used over a short period of time. The instantaneous fuel economy cannot be reset by the driver. The instantaneous fuel economy parameter is displayed on the DIC in one of the following formats:

^ XX MPG INST
^ XX L/100km INST
^ XX km/L INST (Japan metric)

The XX represents the calculated instantaneous fuel economy value. The units of the display will correspond to the current instrument cluster setting. The DIG will display 0 for the English and Japan metric modes and 99 for the normal metric mode after the battery has been disconnected and then reconnected.
