Scan Tool Data Definitions
8-Digit GM Part Number: The scan tool displays the module GM part number.A/C Clutch (Actual): The scan tool displays On or Off. On is displayed when the PCM has energized the A/C compressor clutch relay.
A/C Clutch (Desired): The scan tool displays On or Off. On is displayed when the IPM is requesting A/C system operation and the DIM has determined that none of the system performance limits are exceeded.
A/C Pressure: The scan tool displays 0-4000 kPa (0-580 psi). The output of the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor provided by the PCM over the Class 2 communication link.
A/C Requested: The scan tool displays Yes or No. The message sent out on class 2 to the PCM when A/C is requested.
Air inlet Dr Actual: The scan tool displays 0-255 Counts (0-5.00 Volts). The signal output from the feedback potentiometer on the recirculation actuator.
Air Inlet Dr Commanded: The scan tool displays 0-255 Counts (0-5.00 Volts). The desired position of the recirculation actuator.
Battery Reconnect: The scan tool displays On/Off. When the rear integration module (RIM) senses a battery reconnect the scan tool will display On.
Battery Voltage: The scan tool displays 0-20 Volts. The scan tool displays the voltage as received on the battery positive voltage circuit of the Module or the 72-08 battery voltage message from the DIM over class 2 line.
Brake to Shift Relay: Displays indicates ON when the rear integration module (RIM) applies voltage to the automatic transmission shift lock control power feed circuit.
Calibration ID: The scan tool displays the Calibration ID number for service identification.
Cigar Lighter Relay: The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the commanded state of the cigar lighter relay.
Clutch Voltage: The scan tool displays Low or Normal. Low is displayed when the battery voltage is low, such that A/C compressor clutch slippage is possible.
Commanded Blower: The scan tool displays the module serial number.
Component Serial #8 - 11: Digits 8 to 11 of the component serial number of the control module.
Component Serial #8 - 12: Digits 8 to 12 of the component serial number of the control module.
Component Serial #12: Digit 12 of the component serial number of the control module.
Component Serial #13 - 16: Digits 13 to 16 of the component serial number of the control module.
Component Serial #17 - 18: Digits 17 to 18 of the component serial number of the control module.
Control Power: The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the state of control power.
Coolant Temperature: The scan tool displays -40 to 120°C (-40 to 250°F). The information is received from the PCM on the class 2 communication line.
CTD State: The scan tool displays Alarm/Armed/Arm Pending/Ignition/Standby, indicating the state of the content theft deterrent system (CTD).
Daytime Running Lamp: The scan tool displays On/Off. The commanded state of the DRL relay.
Dr. Rear Heated Seats: The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the commanded state of the driver rear heated seat.
Driver A/C Duct Temp: The scan tool displays -40 to 150°C (-40 to 300°F). The output of the upper left air temperature sensor.
Driver Door Jamb Sw.: The scan tool displays Off/On. The state of the jamb switch as detected by the door module.
Driver Htr. Duct Temp: The scan tool displays -40 to 150°C (-40 to 300°F). The output of the lower left air temperature sensor.
Driver Program Number: The scan tool displays 0-255 counts. This value will vary, depending on the air delivery mode and the air discharge temperature selected by the driver.
Driver Solar: The scan tool displays 0-255 counts. The solar load output of the sunload sensor assembly.
Evaporator Temp Status: The scan tool displays OK or Disengaged. Disengaged is displayed when the A/C compressor clutch has been disengaged to prevent evaporator freeze up.
Evaporator Temp.: The scan tool displays -40 to 21 5°C (-40 to 4200 F). The output of the A/C refrigerant low temperature sensor.
Flash to Pass Switch: The scan tool displays On/Off. The status of the flash to pass switch.
Front Courtesy Lamp Relay: The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates commanded state of the front courtesy lamp relay.
Front Fog Lamp Relay: The scan tool displays On/Off. The commanded state of the front fog lamp relay.
Front Fog Lamp Switch: The scan tool displays On/Off. The status of the front fog lamp switch.
Fuel Door Rel. Output: The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the commanded state of the fuel door release relay.
Fuel Door Release Sw.: The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the state of the fuel door release switch.
Head Lamp Switch: The scan tool displays On/Off. The status of the headlamp switch.
Heated Seats Inhibit: The scan tool displays On/Off. When On the RIM prevents activation of the heated seats.
Heated Seats Status: The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the status of the heated seats.
High Beam Output: The scan tool displays On/Off.
The commanded state of the flash to pass control terminal.
Hood Jamb Switch: The scan tool displays On/Off.
Display indicates the state of the hood jamb switch.
Horn (Except SWC): The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the commanded state of the horn replay.

Htr/Def.A/C Dr. Commanded: The scan tool displays 0-255 Counts (0-5.00 Volts). The desired position of the mode actuator.
Ign. 3 Input: The scan tool displays Active/Inactive. Display indicates the state of the ignition 3 input.
Ign. Accessory: The scan tool displays Active/Inactive. Display indicates the state of the ignition accessory input.
Ign. Crank/Run: The scan tool displays Active/Inactive. Display indicates the state of the ignition crank/run input.
Ign. Run: The scan tool displays Active/Inactive. Display indicates the state of the ignition run input.
Ign. Unlock: The scan tool displays Active/Inactive. Display indicates the state of the ignition unlock input.
Ignition Counter: The scan tool displays 0 - 255 counts. The module counts each time the ignition is cycled.
Ignition Crank: The scan tool displays Active/Inactive. The scan tool displays Active when the DIM receives a battery voltage signal from the ignition switch.
Ignition Cycle Counter: The scan tool displays 0 - 100. Display indicates the number of ignition cycles up to 100.
Ignition Switch: The scan tool displays Accy/Crank/ Off/RAP/RAP-Unlock/Run/Unlock. The scan tool displays Accy when the accessory and unlock circuits of the DIM receives a battery voltage signal from the ignition switch. The scan tool displays Crank when the Crank/Run, Run and Unlock circuits of the DIM receives a battery voltage signal from the ignition switch. The scan tool displays Off when none of the power moding circuits of the DIM receive a battery voltage signal from the ignition switch. The scan tool displays RAP (Retained Accessory Power) when RAP is active and none of the power moding circuits of the DIM receive a battery voltage signal from the ignition switch. The scan tool displays RAP-Unlock when RAP is active and the Ign. Unlock circuit of the DIM receives a battery voltage signal from the ignition switch. The scan tool displays Run when all of the power moding circuits of the DIM receive a battery voltage signal from the ignition switch. The scan tool displays Unlock when the Unlock circuit of the DIM receives a battery voltage signal from the ignition switch.
Inadvertent Power Input: The scan tool displays Active/Inactive. Display indicates the state of the inadvertent power input.
Inadvertent Power Relay: The scan tool displays On/Off. The scan tool displays On when the key is in the ACCY. or ON position.
Incadescent Dim #1: Displays the percentage of dimming sent to the incandescent lamps.
Inside Air Temp (HVAC Sensors): The scan tool displays -40 to 60°C (-40 to 140°F). The output of the inside air temperature sensor.
Inside Air Temp Open/Short Data): The scan tool displays 0-255 Counts (0-5.00 Volts). The status of the sensor signal circuit is monitored. 0 counts (0 Volts) indicates a short to ground, 255 counts (5.00 Volts) indicates an open circuit.
Interior Dim Pot: Displays 0-5 volts. The interior dimmer switch input signal.
Interior Lamp Switch: The scan tool displays Auto or On. The status of the interior lamp switch.
Interior Temp. Sensor Fan: The scan tool displays *. This parameter is not used.
Julian Date of Build: The scan tool displays the module date of build in total calendar days.
Key In Ignition: The scan tool displays Yes/No. The scan too displays Yes when the key is in the ignition and the instrument panel integration module (IPM) receives a signal from the ignition switch.
Left AC Duct Temp: The scan tool displays -40 to 150°C (-40 to 300°F). The output of the upper left air temperature sensor.
Left Htr. Duct Temp.: The scan tool displays -40 to 150°C (-40 to 300°F). The output of the lower left air temperature sensor.
Left Rear Door Jamb Sw.: The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the state of the left rear door jamb switch. On indicates the door is open and Off indicates the door is closed.
Left Solar Sensor: The scan tool displays 0-255 counts. The solar load output of the sunload sensor assembly.
Left Temp Dr Actual: The scan tool displays 0-255 counts (0 to 5 volts). The signal output from the feedback potentiometer on the left air temperature actuator.
Left Temp. Dr. Commanded: The scan tool displays 0-255 Counts (0-5.00 Volts). The desired position of the left air temperature actuator.
Lights On with Wipers: The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the state of the wiper/washer system.
Load Reduction Active: The scan tool displays Yes/No. Display indicates the state of the IPM load reduction command.
Loadshed Lvl.1 Heated Seats: The scan tool displays Enabled or Disabled. The scan tool displays Disabled unless the RIM has entered level 1 of load management and commanded the Heated Seats OFF
Loadshed Lvl.1 R. Blower: The scan tool displays Enabled or Disabled. Enabled indicates that auxiliary blower motor operation has been limited due to a low battery condition.
Loadshed Lvl.1 R. Defog.: The scan tool displays Enabled or Disabled. The scan tool displays Disabled unless the RIM has entered level 1 of load management and commanded the rear defrost OFF.
Loadshed Lvl.2 Blower: The scan tool displays Enabled or Disabled. Enabled indicates that auxiliary blower motor operation has been prohibited due to a low battery condition.
Loadshed Lvl.2 Heated Seats: The scan tool displays Enabled or Disabled. The scan tool displays Disabled unless the RIM has entered level 2 of load management and commanded the Heated Seats OFF.
Loadshed Lvl.2 R. Defog.: The scan tool displays Enabled or Disabled. The scan tool displays Disabled unless the RIM has entered level 2 Of load
management and commanded the rear defrost OFF.
Low Beam Output: The scan tool displays On/Off. The commanded state of the headlamp control terminal.
Max Air Inlet Dr Pos: The scan tool displays 0-255 Counts (0-5.00 Volts). The maximum travel range when driven to the stop during Recalibrate All Motors command.
Max Left Temp Dr Pos: The scan tool displays 0-255 Counts (0-5.00 Volts). The maximum travel range when driven to the stop during Recalibrate All Motors command.
Max Right Temp Dr Pos: The scan tool displays 0-255 Counts (0-5.00 Volts). The maximum travel range when driven to the stop during Recalibrate All Motors command.
Max. Htr./Def./A/C Dr.: The scan tool displays 0-255 Counts (0-5.00 Volts). The maximum travel range when driven to the stop during Recalibrate All Motors command.

Park Lamp: The scan tool displays On/Off. The status of the park lamp switch.
Park Lamp Relay Output: The scan tool displays On/Off. The commanded state of the park lamp relay.
Pass. Door Jamb Sw.: The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the state of the right front door jamb switch. On indicates the door is open and Off indicates the door is closed.

PROM ID: The scan tool displays the module PROM ID.
RAP Output: The scan tool displays On/Off. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the RAP relay.
Rear Blower Control: The scan tool displays On or Off. On indicates that the RIM has enabled the auxiliary blower motor relay.
Rear Courtesy Lamp Relay: The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates commanded state of the rear courtesy lamp relay.
Rear Defog Relay: The scan tool displays On/Off. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the rear defog relay.
Rear Fog Lamp Switch: The scan tool displays On/Off. The scan tool displays the state of the rear fog lamp switch.
Rear Fog Output: The scan tool displays On/Off. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the rear fog lamp relay.
Reverse Lockout Drive: Display indicates ON when the dash integration module (DIM) grounds the control circuit of the reverse lockout relay.
Reverse Relay Output: Right AC Duct Temp: The scan tool displays -40 to 150°C (-40 to 300°F). The output of the upper right air temperature sensor.
Right Htr. Duct Temp.: The scan tool displays -40 to 1 50°C (-40 to 300°F). The output of the lower right air temperature sensor.

Selected Air Mode: The scan tool displays: Auto/Upper/Bi-Level/Floor/Defog/Defrost. This data indicates the discharge air mode selected. The positions are displayed as follows:
^ AUTO - The Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM) controls all HVAC air flow.
^ UPPER - The air flows from the 4 upper vents.
^ BI-LEVEL - The air flows from the 4 panel vents and the 2 floor vents.
^ FLOOR - The air flows from the 2 floor vents.
^ DEFOG - The air flows from the defrost vent at the top of the instrument panel and the 2 floor vents.
^ DEFROST - The air flows from the defrost vent at the top of the instrument panel.
Steering Wheel Controls AID: The scan tool displays 0 - 255 counts. The scan tool displays signal in counts as received from the steering wheel controls.
System Program Number: The scan tool displays 0 - 255 counts. The display indicates the commanded temperature setting.
TCS Switch: The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the status of the traction control switch.
Temperature Status: The scan tool displays Hot or OK. Hot is displayed when engine coolant temperature rises above 121°C (250°F). OK must be displayed to allow A/C operation.
Theft Lighting: The scan tool displays On/Off. The scan tool displays the current state of the exterior theft lighting.
Trunk Ajar Switch: The scan tool displays On/Off. The scan tool displays the current state of the trunk ajar switch.
Trunk Ajar Switch (Inputs): The scan tool displays Open/Closed. The scan tool displays the current state of the trunk ajar switch.
Trunk Ajar Switch (Theft Information): The scan tool displays On/Off. The scan tool displays the current state of the trunk ajar switch.
Trunk Disarm Switch: The scan tool displays the current state of the trunk disarm switch.
Trunk Release Output: The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the commanded state of the trunk release relay.
Trunk Release Switch: The scan tool displays the current state of the trunk release switch.
Twilight Delay Pot: The scan tool displays 0-5 volts. The twilight delay switch input signal.
Twilight Photocell: Displays 0-5 volts. The ambient light sensor input signal.
Vehicle Speed: The scan tool displays 0-24g km/h/0-155 mph. This value is used to calculate the outside air temperature when the vehicle is moving.
Year Module Built: The scan tool displays the module year built.
