Class 2 Serial Data Link
The data link is a ring/star configuration with discrete lines entering and leaving each module. This allows communications to the modules on the ring if one of the two discrete circuits is open. The control modules on the Class 2 serial data circuit can include the following components:
^ Audio Amplifier
^ Cellular Telephone Module W/UV8
^ Continuously Variable Road Sensing Suspension (CVRSS) Module W/F45
^ Dash Integration Module (DIM)
^ Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM)
^ Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM)
^ Instrument Cluster (IPC)
^ Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM)
^ Memory Seat Module (MSM)
^ Navigation Display Head W/UY4
^ Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
^ Radio
^ Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR)
^ Rear Integration Module (RIM)
^ Theft Deterrent Control Module
The following modules have only one communication line connection to the Class 2 serial data circuit:
^ Drive Door Module (DDM)
^ Navigation Data Processor W/UY4
^ Steering Column Module W/N37
^ Vehicle Interface Unit (VIU) W/EU1
