Front Side Door Window Reveal Molding Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Lower the window to the full down position.
2. Remove the power mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement (Power Mirror Replacement).
3. Remove the inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement (Door Window Sealing Strip).
4. Remove the window run channel. Refer to Front Side Door Window Channel Replacement (Door Window Channel).
5. Remove the door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement (Front Side Door Window Replacement).
6. Remove the fasteners from the door window reveal molding.
7. Insert a thin, flat-bladed tool between the molding and the door pillar and cut the foam tape. Work from the top downward until the tape is separated.
8. Remove the door window reveal molding.
Installation Procedure
Important: If the old molding is to be reused, the foam tape must be replaced as outlined in steps 1 through 4. A new molding from GMSPO will have new tape installed.
1. Mark the location of the old tape strip on the molding applique with a scribe.
2. Remove all of the tape residue from the door pillar and the molding applique (1).
Use a isopropyl alcohol dampened cloth in order to remove the old tape residue.
3. Install new foam tape to the molding applique (1). Align the new tape with the scribe marks made previously.
4. Wrap the clear plastic release liner tab to the outside of the molding applique (1).
5. Secure the release liner tab in place with a small piece of masking tape (2).
6. Install the door window reveal molding into the window frame.
Important: Ensure the close-out lip around the entire outer edge is not rolled under.
7. Push the molding inward in order to compress the foam.

8. Install the three screws to the front of the center pillar.
1. Install the upper screw first.
2. Install the lower screw second.
3. Install the center screw third.
Tighten the three screws as indicated to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).
9. Install the six screws into the door frame header starting at the rear and working forward.
Tighten the six screws to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).
10. Install the four nuts along the door flange in order to secure the reveal molding to the door. If the molding is a new part, new fasteners are included with the assembly.
Tighten the four nuts to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
11. Pull the release liner at the door pillar and apply pressure to the applique to adhere the tape to the door pillar.
12. Install the window run channel. Refer to Front Side Door Window Channel Replacement (Door Window Channel).
13. Install the door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement (Front Side Door Window Replacement).
14. Install the inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement (Door Window Sealing Strip).
15. Install the power mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement (Power Mirror Replacement).
