Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front

Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer toSIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer toSeat Replacement - Bucket (Seat Replacement - Bucket) in SIR.
2. Remove the seat belt retractors from the front seat. Refer toSeat Belt Replacement - Driver or Passenger in Seat belts.
3. Remove the head restraint. Refer toHead Restraint Replacement - Front Seat (Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat) .
4. Remove the side impact air bag. Refer toInflatable Restraint Side Impact Module Replacement - Front in SIR.
5. Disconnect the air lines for the lumbar if equipped.




6. Disconnect the heated seat electrical connector to the seat back.
7. Remove all of the seat back cover J channels retaining the seat back cover and pad to the seat back frame.




8. Remove the seat cover (1) and cushion (2) from the seat back frame.
9. Cut hog rings retaining seat back cover (1) to the seat back cushion (2).
10. Remove the seat back cover (1) from the seat back cushion (2).



Installation Procedure





1. Install the seat back cover (1) to the seat back cushion (2).
2. Align the seat cover (1) to the seat pad (2) and install the hog rings that retain the seat back cover (1) to the cushion (2).
3. Position the seat back cover and pad (1, 2) to the seat back frame.
4. Install the J channels to seat back frame.




5. Connect the heated seat electrical connectors.
6. Connect lumbar air lines if equipped.
7. Install the front side impact air bag. Refer toInflatable Restraint Side Impact Module Replacement - Front in SIR.
8. Install the front seat belt retractors to the front seat. Refer toSeat Belt Replacement - Driver or Passenger in Seat belts.
9. Install the head restraint. Refer toHead Restraint Replacement - Front Seat (Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat) .
10. Enable the SIR system. Refer toSeat Replacement - Bucket (Seat Replacement - Bucket) in SIR.
